This double beef burger isn't your average patty. We're stacking a hand-formed beef patty, loaded with jerky. We're building a burger that plays with texture as much as flavor. It's smoky. A hint of sweet. One bite and you'll wonder why every burger doesn't have jerky in it.
Ingredients:
- 1 bag Sweet & Snappy Beef Jerky, finely chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4 slices red onion
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 iceberg lettuce leaves
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (or preferred)
- 4 brioche rolls, halved and toasted (or preferred)
Directions:
In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the ground beef and chopped jerky, and work through using your hands until just combined.
Shape into 1/2in, 1/4 pound patties. Cook on the stove in a cast iron skillet on medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook 4-5 minutes with the lid on, until browned on the bottom. Flip over, top with cheese if desired, and cook 2-3 minutes for medium, or preferred doneness.
Remove burgers from heat. Let them rest for several minutes before serving. Build burger with bottom bun, preferred sauce, lettuce leaf, tomato, patty, onion and top with more preferred sauce and top bun.
