Caramel apples are an October non-negotiable, but this year we're doing something to them that candy corn never saw coming. Instead of the usual, we're pressing crumbled Wagyu jerky into the mix. Sweet meets savory meets a hit of flaky sea salt. No candy thermometer, no fuss: drizzle, sprinkle, chill, done.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5oz More Than Just Original Turkey Jerky, finely chopped
  • 4 granny smith apples (or preferred)
  • 8oz granulated sugar
  • 8oz heavy cream
  • 4oz water
  • 6oz dark chocolate chips
  • 2oz peanuts, finely chopped
  • Sea salt, to taste

Directions:

Add sugar, water and a pinch of salt to a pan on medium heat. Stir until sugar is just dissolved. Simmer until a honey color and do not stir (about 9 minutes). Add heavy cream and stir until combined. Remove from heat.

Melt dark chocolate chips and let cool. Add cooled caramel and chocolate into separate piping bags and cut small tip at end. Cut apples into even rings and pat slices dry. Core the middle of each slice to remove seeds.

Layer drizzled caramel, followed by melted chocolate. Evenly sprinkle chopped jerky and peanuts on top. Refrigerate or serve immediately.
